What is a Meal Plan?

The Meal Plan offers you ease and flexibility. It works like a debit card: When you purchase something, the amount will be deducted from your balance. Meal Plan holders receive exclusive promotions and extra discounts. There are several Meal Plan options available; the higher the credit of the Meal Plan, the higher the discount. It works just like a debit card, every time you purchase something at one of our outlets on the UCU campus the amount will be deducted from your balance.

Which Meal Plans are available?

Depending on how much you are planning to spend during the academic year, you can choose from five different ‘sizes’ of Meal Plan: from XS to XL. A Meal Plan is valid for one academic year (10 months). In agreement with UCU, Meal Plan M is the recommended option. Remember, this gives you a 10% discount on everything!

How do I purchase a Meal Plan?

For purchasing a Meal Plan visit here. Choose your Meal Plan, follow the ordering process and pay with your credit card. Your Meal Plan card will be ready for pickup at the Sodexo Office at UCU Dining Hall Restaurant.

How does the Meal Plan work?

It works just like a debit card, every time you purchase something at one of our outlets on the UCU campus the amount will be deducted from your balance. Online you can check your current balance, whenever you want. Click here to check your card balance.

How do I receive my Meal Plan card?

After you purchased the Meal Plan online, you receive an e-mail with confirmation details. In this e-mail you will find your card number. You can pick-up your card at the Sodexo office at the UCU Dining Hall restaurant by showing your confirmation e-mail and a valid ID.

Do I need to activate my Meal Plan card?

No. Once you pick-up your Meal Plan card at the Sodexo office at UCU Dining Hall, it is already active and ready to use.

What if I lose my card?

If you lose your Meal Plan card you can deactivate your card. To do so visit here. Fill in your card number, you will receive an e-mail on the e-mail address that is linked to your Meal Plan. In this e-mail you will find a link to confirm your de-activation.

To request a new Meal Plan card, please send an e-mail to mealplanucu.nl@sodexo.com or visit the Sodexo office at the UCU Dining Hall. Please note that for requesting a new card €25 service costs will be deducted from your balance.

How do I check my balance?

To check your balance visit here and fill in your cardnumber.

What if I don’t remember my cardnumber?

If you don’t remember your card-number visit here and fill in your e-mailaddress that is linked to your Meal Plan.

How do I change my e-mail address?

To change your e-mail address, please visit the Sodexo Office at the UCU Dining Hall.

What if I forgot my card, while at the cash-register?

Unfortunately you do need your card to pay with your Meal Plan.

Can I combine two or more Meal Plans on one card?

Unfortunately this is not possible

What if my Meal Plan is expired, but I still have credit left?

After your Meal Plan is expired, you will no longer be able to use your Meal Plan balance. So make sure that you use all your credit before the expiration date.

Where can I use my Meal Plan?

Your Meal Plan can be used at UCU Dining Hall Restaurant and UCU Dining Hall Jazzmans. Both are open daily, Jazzmans UCU from 8.30 AM to 2 PM and Dining Hall Restaurant from 11.30 AM to 7 PM.

What can I buy with my Meal Plan?

With Meal Plan you can eat and drink whenever you want at the UCU Dining Hall Restaurant and UCU Dining Hall Jazzmans. UCU Dining Hall Jazzmans is open for breakfast and lunch. Here you can buy delicious breakfast, hot & cold lunches and fresh juices and drinks. Or you can enjoy a fresh brewed coffee from one of the barista’s. You can also visit UCU Dining Hall Restaurant. In this self-service restaurant you can enjoy lunch and dinner, with a daily changing variety of hot & cold food and drinks. The chefs make sure that the menu contains lots of healthy and nutritious meals and that vegetarian and vegan options will be available on daily basis. Of course they take into account your dietary restrictions.

Can I purchase a Meal Plan if I am not a UCU student?

Yes, Meal Plan is available for everyone.

What is the expiration date of my Meal Plan?

The expiration date of all Meal Plans is 01 June 2020.

Can I get a refund in case I no longer study at UCU?

In case you quit youre study at UCU, please contact the Sodexo Office at UCU Dining Hall restaurant or send an e-mail to mealplanucu.nl@sodexo.com.

Is there a due date for when you can purchase a meal plan?

There is no due date for purchasing a meal plan; you can purchase a meal plan whenever you want to!

Can the free coffees offered by some meal plan options also be redeemed against different drinks?

You can redeem the ‘free coffees’ for coffees or for teas.
